Buying a kitten from StraytCats
Please read EVERYTHING on this page before sending an official inquiry about one of our kittens!
Straytcats does not sell any breeder cats/kittens to unregistered catteries, catteries who do not practice ethical breeding or any persons or individuals who have intent to cross-breed with other hybrids or domestics that are not in fact registered bengals. If you want to purchase a breeding animal from us you need to be a TICA registered breeder, or if just starting your breeding program you need to show proof of mentorship in breeding being accompanied by a registered breeder/cattery who can stand behind you in your breeding practices for guidance and support.
I will NOT hold a kitten for ANY extended amount of time without a deposit. If you are interested in buying a certain kitten I require deposit to be received within a reasonable time frame from requesting purchase of said kitten. If you inquire about a certain kitten and I do not here back from you within 48hrs after I respond to your inquiry I will move on to the next inquiring home for that kitten.
If you are planning to send a deposit for a kitten I will hold that kitten for you for a maximum of 5 week days in order to give you time to get your deposit in to me. I require all deposits be sent via priority mail with postal tracking number so that I can see you have sent deposit out and it is in transit to me. I will not hold kittens on a promise of a deposit which continues to fail to reach me; so I do require a postal tracking number in all monies being sent to me as proof that it has been sent and I am not wasting my time holding onto a kitten for someone who has no intention of actually purchasing it. This is not beneficial to me when I have other potential homes inquiring about that same kitten.
I accept postal money orders, cashiers checks & personal checks for form of payment, I do not accept paypal. I much prefer postal money orders. If paying a remaining balance on your kitten after you have already paid deposit price I do require any personal checks being sent get to me at least two weeks before the kitten is ready to leave my hands so that the check has enough time to safely clear your bank account. If the kitten is READY TO GO I will not accept personal checks and money must be paid by postal money order or cashiers check.

When inquiring about purchasing a kitten I would love to know a bit about you and what kind of home my kitten will be living in. Here is a short list of some of the things I would appreciate you telling me when sending an inquiry. This information will help me determine a good fit for your living environment. It is important to me to place the right cat with the right people, so knowing as much information about you and your home as possible will help me with this.
1. If you've had experience with exotic cats in the past, if so where are they now/what was your experience and anything that pertains to this subject.
2. Do you have any other animals living in the home with you? If so how many/what kinds.
3. Do you have children in your home with you? If so, how many/how old?
4. Do you have a veterinarian picked out who is willing to treat your Bengal?
5. Bengals are curious by nature and can get themselves into trouble; do you have care credit or other means of paying for emergency veterinary services if the need arises?
6. Do you rent or own your home?
7. If you rent, are pets allowed where you are renting?
8. How many hours a day do you work/go to school.
9. If you are working and or in school for long periods of time will there be anyone in your home to keep the kitty company while you're away?
10. Have you looked into the laws in your area regarding hybrid exotic cat ownership? This should be done not only by the state you reside in but also the city and county you reside in within that state. What is legal in the state its self may not be legal in individual counties/cities within that state.
You will be required to sign a contract upon purchasing a cat with us. Below is an example of the things you will be agreeing to when signing this contract. No stipulations within this contract are changeable under any circumstances.

You will be required to sign a contract upon purchasing a cat with us. Below is an example of the things you will be agreeing to when signing this contract. No stipulations within this contract are changeable under any circumstances.
1. This cat/kitten is purchased as: Pet_X___ Breeder____ Show____
2. If purchased as a pet and is not already spayed/neutered, this cat/kitten must be spayed/neutered by 6 months of age. Purchaser guarantees that this cat/kitten WILL NOT be used for breeding. The buyer further agrees that if said cat is found to be used for stud and or breeding it will result in up to $1000 in damages paid to the breeder, furthermore if said cat/kitten is found to be used for stud and or breeding seller reserves the right to repossess this cat/kitten at her discretion if the kitten was not purchased for this intended purpose. Seller reserves the right to hold onto this cat/kittens registration paperwork until proof of spay/neuter has been returned to the seller. Seller also reserves the right to hold onto this cat/kittens registration paperwork until payment has been made in full by the buyer.
3. Purchaser agrees to never get this cat/kitten vaccinated for FIP due to the likely occurrence that this vaccination can mutate into the very disease it is said to protect against. Furthermore, if said kitten is found to be vaccinated for FIP or FIV it will void the health agreement on this contract due to the fact that these are relatively new vaccinations and their effects on health and safety have not been confirmed.
4. Cat/kitten must be provided with adequate food, shelter, water and veterinary care. Cat/kitten will be kept indoors at all times unless supervision is provided outdoors, cat is on a leash or in an enclosure. Cat/kitten will not be declawed. If cat/kitten is declawed, or let to free roam outdoors it will void any financial support or health guarantees in this contract.
5. Cat/kitten will not be re-sold or re-homed. By signing this contract you are committing to giving this cat/kitten a forever home. If you can no longer care for this cat/kitten you agree to return full ownership rights back to StraytCats and or let StraytCats help you place said cat/kitten in an approved home. If purchased as a breeder the cattery who made the purchase has the right to adopt cat out to an approved home of their choosing after it has retired from breeding.
6. StraytCats reserves the right to refuse final sale of cat/kitten to anyone she deems unsuitable.
7.There will be NO monetary refunds of deposits, purchase price, shipping costs, veterinary expenses or any other costs once the cat/kitten has left the hands of StraytCats. The Buyer assumes responsibility of all expenses incurred in relation to the cat/kitten after said cat/kitten leaves the possession of the seller, as well as any expense incurred at the request of the buyer before the cat/kitten leaves possession of the seller. Buyer should be aware that these are LIVE ANIMALS and sometimes things may happen that we have NO control over and should anything happen to your cat/kitten while here at StraytCats a replacement cat/kitten of equal or greater value will be offered when one becomes available. If for any reason the cat/kitten is returned to the Seller, Buyer agrees to pay all expenses, including shipping costs. StraytCats does not guarantee against allergies associated with this cat/kitten. Please make sure you are not allergic to cat/kitten prior to putting down any money or signing a contract. There are NO refunds if you choose to return this cat/kitten or refuse to take said cat/kitten
8. Said cat/kitten is to be in good health and vaccinated, dewormed, and dosed with Revolution. Our cattery is a Feline AIDS (FIV) and Feline Leukemia (FELV) negative cattery. It is the Buyer‘s responsibility to have this Bengal examined by a veterinarian within 72 hours after adoption. This is your health guarantee period. If cat/kitten is found to have a mild condition (documentation required by a licensed Veterinarian), Seller will cover vet fees up to $150 but is not responsible for the cost of the initial veterinary appointment. If this cat/kitten is found to have an untreatable or life threatening disease that is proven to have been contracted at the Seller’s home (documentation required by a licensed Veterinarian), the Buyer is obligated to immediately spay/neuter this cat/kitten if said cat/kitten is still intact or was sold with the purpose of breeding. Upon supplying the Seller with this documentation, Seller will replace said cat/kitten with another of equal or greater value at the Seller’s first opportunity. Buyer understands that at no time, for any reason, will there be a monetary refund. There are no cash refunds or buybacks. Once a deposit is in place a signed contract must be received within 10 working days. After the 72 hour health guarantee period, the Seller cannot be held accountable in the future for FeLV/FIV/FIP, and any other bacterial or viral infectious diseases, parasites, or fungus, due to the fact that these can be contracted anywhere in the environment after leaving the cattery and are not a result of genetics or breeding.
9.If the kitten/cat is found to be medically deficient with an untreatable or life threatening problem, it must be reported to the Seller immediately. Should no replacement be available, Seller has up to one year to provide a replacement cat/kitten. It is the responsibility of the Buyer to provide immediate veterinary care to any cat/kitten showing signs of illness or distress. Failure to do so will render warranty null and void. Under no circumstances is the cat/kitten to be euthanized prior to notification by Buyer to Seller. If the kitten/cat dies during warranty period despite veterinary treatment, a replacement will be made ONLY if a licensed veterinarian certifies cause of death with an appropriate necropsy. The Seller will replace the kitten/cat with another of equal or greater value at the Seller’s first opportunity.
10.This cat/kitten is guaranteed against all heredity defects up to the age of one year. Should a hereditary defect appear within one year of life, a Licensed Veterinarian must document it. Upon supplying the Seller with this documentation, Seller will replace said cat/kitten with another of equal or greater value at the Seller’s first opportunity. However, if the disease or condition is found to be linked to lack of care (improper diet or veterinary care), then Seller is not responsible. The buyer is obligated to immediately spay/neuter this cat/kitten if it is still intact. Buyer understands that at no time, for any reason, will there be a monetary refund of any of the purchase price. If Buyer makes claims regarding illness and/or problems, the Seller has the right to be informed and provided with the Veterinarian’s contact information and permission to access all of the Buyers cat/kitten’s and cats/kittens living with said cats/kittens medical records if need be. If buyer fails to provide medical records or contact information for the cat/kittens providing veterinarian(s) it will breach this contract, any guarantee of replacement will be null and void and it could offer grounds for legal action.
11. Our early generation bengal kittens F1-F3 are only vaccinited with FVRCP vaccinations at the request of the buyer, the buyer is hereby informed that this vaccination may pose a serious health risk to early generation hybrids which can cause general malice, lethargy, vomiting, dehydration, drop in immune systems and in extreme cases kidney failure and death. We refuse to give FVRCP vaccines to our early generation hybrid kittens if buyer requests their kitten to be shipped at 12-13wks old, if FVRCP vaccine is requested we require to hold onto the kitten until a minimum of 16wks to give it's immune system enough strength to handle these vaccines without serious complications.
12. This cat/kitten is not guaranteed against cosmetic faults, i.e. tail fault, lockets, barring, pattern flow, color change; or carrying other appearance related genes (e.g. marble, non-agouti, charcoal, snow, melanistic etc...) as these are not health related.
13. Under no circumstances will said cat/kitten be sold, leased or given away to any pet store, research laboratory, humane society, rescue organization or similar facility.

Buyer agrees never to authorize anyone else to publish or post any negative information about the Seller or StraytCats. In the event of a problem with cat or Seller, Buyer agrees to try and work out a solution in private, and/or through other lawful means. Further, if Seller sees anything on Buyer’s website or other places on the internet that may have a negative effect on the Sellers reputation as a Breeder, Seller will notify Buyer to remove it. If removal is possible, Buyer must remove it within 14 days from date of notice. "Negative information" includes, but is not limited to: any health conditions the cat may have or has had, any disputes the Buyer has with the Seller, or any other negative business or personal information about the Cattery or the Seller. Buyer agrees that Seller reserves the right to own the copyright of any and all information posted by Buyer about Seller in any/all forms of media.
15. If Buyer or Seller commences any legal action as a result of this contract, Buyer agrees that the place of venue for such action shall be held in the state of Washington within the County which Seller resides. If there is a violation of this agreement, all legal fees will be paid by the buyer pursuing legal action.
16. Should any of the terms in this contract not be adhered to it will offer grounds for legal action and repossession of said cat/kitten at the discretion of the seller.
